Learn Japanese Or Chinese First

For me, a native japanese guy, learning chinese characters is just a piece of cake (except for their pronunciations), and the same could be said of chinese people who learn japanese. simplified chinese characters are slightly different from japanese kanji, but this is not a serious problem when learning.. Best answer: i learned chinese first, and it made learning japanese a lot easier later. chinese has less complicated grammar, however learning to read and write is extremely time consuming and difficult, requiring a lot of practice and memory.. The japanese language does sometimes differentiate meaning using a high-low distinction (what linguists call “pitch accent”), but the good news is that you do not need to learn a specific tone for each and every syllable like you do in languages like chinese..
